Maria Lopez
María studied at the Complutense University of Madrid and has two degrees: Early Childhood Education Teacher and Primary Education Teacher. She also studied a Master's Degree in Attention to Diversity at the Autonomous University of Madrid and the AMI Montessori course with Guadalupe Borbolla as a trainer. She has a six-year experience working with children in Ireland and also some years in Spain. She also had international experience as a student teacher in Chile and Italy.
During her studies, María researched and completed her thesis in Philosophy for Children, a field that led her to a new knowledge of another possible education more in line with the needs of children. She discovered all the principles of the New Education movement, also known as New School, which was a progressive movement of the early 20th century. From there she discovered Maria Montessori's dedication to education and how she transformed into one that follows teh natural development of the child. Maria Montessori put the child in the center, adapting the entire teaching-learning process to the way children learn, making it more practical, sensorial and motivating for them.
María previously worked as a lifeguard and played on a water polo team for a few years. In her free time she likes to travel, to see new places, exercise (especially swimming), read, study foreign languages, be in contact with nature and animals and spend time with good friends and her family.
